The 2010 Season is here!!
Here are some important information for you to know
1.REGISTRATION
Late Registration is still open. Please let your family and friends know that they are running out of time to get their son/daughter signed up for the Fall Season.
2.COMMUNICATION
Remember to always check the CYFA Website at www.cyfa.org. Additionally, we have a Facebook page that you can join at (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?profile=1&id=253617192260#!/pages/Etowah-Football-CYFA/253617192260).
We will keep this updated as another form of communication to get information out to you.
3.EQUIPMENT HANDOUTS

HELMETS AND PADS ARE REQUIRED
FOR ASSESSMENTS THIS YEAR.
THIS IS A CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS SEASONS !!.
YOUR CHILD NEEDS THEIR EQUIPMENT TO BE ASSESSED PROPERLY.
This is for football players only; cheer uniforms will be handed out separately. Please note that your child MUST be present to be fitted for his helmet and shoulder pads. You will NOT be given these items if your player is NOT present. There is a $100 equipment deposit due when you pick up your equipment. This check will NOT be cashed unless you do not return your equipment in good condition at the end of the season. We have a lot of players to fit and the schedule is set in order to make the handout process go as quickly as possible. Please do not come during another district's time period as we may not have the proper colors for your district available at that time……UNLESS…..
- you CANNOT make the 24th, but CAN make this weekend’s date 17th, go this weekend and pickup your son’s pads. You will have to get the “school specific” items at the make-up equipment date - but will NOT be charged the late fee for the remaining items (you made 2 trips).
- you CANNOT make the 24th nor this weekend’s date – there will be a make-up equipment date on July 31st. Please be aware there will be a $25 late fee due if you pick up your equipment on this day or later!
To expedite pants fitting, please have your player wear gym shorts and easily removed shoes. He will be able to slip his game pants on over the shorts to check the fit!
Here are the date/times, please be respectful of the breaks. They are ALL volunteers working hard to get you in and out as quickly as possible. It will be a long day for them and they need time for lunch and to catch their breath! Thank you for your understanding!!

**ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT NOTE:** For those of you who have your own equipment, CYFA must evaluate the fit of that equipment to satisfy our insurance carrier. Please bring your player with the equipment on any equipment day. If you need to get game pants and socks, please come when your district is being fitted.
Play It Again Sports is another CYFA sponsor. For your convenience, they will be at all equipment days and locations with practice gear for sale at a special CYFA price. Parents will supply cleats, mouth guard, practice pants and practice jersey for your player. Also, feel free to visit their store in Kennesaw. Mention you are with CYFA to receive a 10% discount on any item in the store.
4.ASSESSMENTS – Monday July 26th – Thursday July 29th
Assessments this year will
be in Helmets/Mouthpieces on M/T/W.
Thursday will be in FULL PADS.
Players MUST have attended M-W in order to participate in FULL PADS on Thursday.
We will have the Assessments from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Monday through Thursday. Your child should be there EVERY evening. We will be at our NEW LOCATION which is the Chapman Intermediate field. The Address for Chapman is: 6500 Putnam Ford Drive Woodstock, GA 30189.
Make sure to bring plenty of water – it is hot and hydration is important. The drafts will be held the Sunday (Aug 1st) after the Assessment Week and you will then be contacted by your coach to let you know what your practice schedule will be for the rest of the season. Practices WILL start the first week of August – your coach will designate the actual dates/days.
